People don't go to this East London institution for the food -- the food's great, but the company's better. 

Going to E. Pellicci’s, one of the last remaining "caffs" in East London, is kind of like stepping into someone’s living room. The caff was opened in 1900 and is still run by the same Italian-Cockney family. Mama Maria cooks Italian and British dishes while her children, Anna and Nevio Jr, entertain everyone from cab drivers to movie stars with a mixture of Italian hospitality and Cockney banter and mickey-taking. Many people eat here several days a week, often coming alone — but Anna and Nev won’t let you leave without introducing you to your neighbor, your neighbor's neighbor, their uncle, their mother...
